Being a child of a father in the Canadian Air Force, I had the opportunity to move to different places and attend many different churches. As an adult, I have been more stable. In each city where I have lived, I have found a church home. In Vancouver, it was First Church of the Nazarene. While living in Sherwood Park, AB, I attended a Baptist Church and then Bethel Lutheran Church. When churches were able to congregate during the pandemic, I attended Living Hope which I consider my church home. After graduating from SFU, I worked at the library in the Vancouver School of Theology for three years until I joined L'Arche Comox Valley. Over 39 years, I held various positions at the local (L'Arche Comox Valley and L’Arche Comox Valley) and L’Arche Canada as both the vice national leader and national leader. As I shared recently at the Free on Friday luncheon, Jesus’s mission has been the foundational scripture of my life. When I read these verses, I knew that I had to try to follow Jesus. I retired July 12th this year so am now exploring how to live this mission in a new context.
