Hello,
I’m Dave Barlow, an elder at Living Hope for the past 6 years.
I serve within the teams responsible for greeting, hospitality and missions & I am involved with the Sunday School for teens called Jam Sessions.
After 8 years on the rock called Galiano Island, my wife Krista announced to the kids and I enough is enough. It took an additional two years to coax her away from deep friendships there but eventually we did.
Twenty five years ago our little family put roots down into the Comox Valley and it has proved to be a wonderful place for us to live.
I came to faith in the mid seventies in Anchorage, Alaska upon hearing and seeing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Now some 45 years later I often marvel yet struggle to grasp the height, breadth and depth of God's love, especially when contrast with my faultering capacity to follow and obey Him.
'Tis mostly mystery.
I have recently retired from a window tinting business but prior to that I fished commercially. Weather permitting , these days (May - Oct) I fish for fun from my row boat.
We dropped anchor at Living Hope thirteen years ago and have shared peaks and pits with many who are now closer than family.
Thanks for the ride, Lord! Teach me to cling ever tighter and closer to You as we adventure further into Your kingdom coming on earth as in heaven.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-12:30
