The season of Covid-19 restrictions has presented us all with many challenges, but has also given rise to several new, and refreshing opportunities. For our family, Sunday mornings have dramatically changed now that we are meeting online. While I deeply miss Jeannie’s hugs, conversations over coffee and the chance to be together in worship, there is a part of me that definitely enjoys the new pace of Sunday mornings. How can I not appreciate a second (or third) cup of coffee on the couch as I sing along with Lisa, Julia, or Dave and listen to the sermon of the day?!

One of the new delights/challenges of the season is the intentionality required to connect with others. I’ve enjoyed finding new and meaningful ways of connecting with our community through this season. It sometimes takes effort to pick up the phone and reach out to a friend, but I always find it highly rewarding and fulfilling. The separation required during Covid has fostered in me a deep heart-need for ‘real’ connection beyond quick or casual hellos. I also find that selfies and quick pics mean more, now that I see people less. What may seem like a few short weeks for the rest of us, is a lifetime for our church babies! I love seeing their little faces and new teeth, and find I am deeply grateful for shared photos. Check out some of my recent favourites!
